PRIMARY SECTOR
Primary sector jobs are those
that obtain primary sources directly from nature.
Farming – consists of breeding livestock animals.
The livestock farmer is the
person who does this job.
There are two types of farming:
- Extensive
farming – animals live in natural open-air terrains.
- Intensive
farming – animals live in farms and stables.
There are four types of
livestock:
- Sheep
Farming – sheeps.
- Cattle
Farming – cows.
- Pig
Farming – pigs.
- Poultry
Farming – hands.
Agriculture – consists
of the cultivation of land to obtain vegetable products.
The crop farmer is the person who
does this job.
There are two types of cropping:
- Dry
Farming – grows only with rain water like wheat or almonds.
- Irrigation
Farming – crops need more water tan dry farming like tomatoes or rice.
Forestry – consists
of the cultivation care and exploitation of woodland and hills.
The forester is the person who
does this job.
Fishing –
consists of the catching of fish and other aquatic animals in rivers, lakes and
at sea.
The fisher is the person who does
this job.
There are two types of fishing:
- River
fishing – takes place in rivers.
- Sea
fishing – takes place at sea. Sea fishing has two types:

Deep-sea fishing is done by great big boats far
away from the coast.

Shallow sea fishing is done by smaller boats that
come to the coast.
Aquaculture fishing consists of
the production of algae and aquatic animals in tanks called fish farms.
Mining – consists
of the collection of mineral resources from the floor and the subfloor.
The miner is the person who does
this job.
There is a great variety of
minerals:

Metallic minerals – iron, gold.

Nonmetallic minerals – marble, granite.

Energetic or combustible minerals – oil, gas,
coal.

Coal is the most importan ones but also the ones
that contaminates the most.

What can we do?
It´s fundamental that everyone
who works in primary sector respects nature so it´s primary sources aren´t
depleted and they work sustainable.
We also need to take care and
defend nature.
